When we began to plan Yash and Ruchi’s big day we all knew it was going to be extraordinary. The design brief for the wedding was simple- “create a mandap that is unusual and unexpected!” We conceptualized a beautiful tree as a makeshift mandap under which the pheras will take place. Instead of a typical mandap, we wanted them to take their vows under a floral tree filled with traditional indian flowers. We combined the tree branches with unruly arrangements of orchids and rajnigandha hangings, weaved in some pretty laktans and gold balls and created an ombre effect with mood lighting to get the desired effect.
It was an amazing day, rich with meaningful details that celebrated the many years of togetherness that they had shared leading to this big day. They wanted their guests to feel included in the wedding and enjoy the traditions. We had mangal geet artists and musicians filling in the background notes.
WEDDING
RECEPTION
For the reception, that followed the wedding after a quick break, we added a dance floor to create a relaxed mood that quickly resonated with every guest. We had 3 feet tall centerpieces, and we changed the colors of the event. Traditional reds were replaced by contemporary pink chairbows. The mandap was now the backdrop of the reception stage and also made a great photobooth!!!
