Get ready, people, because today’s wedding took place at one of Pune’s best wedding venues, Corinthians! And to top that, we have a gorgeous bride and groom! Just wait until you see it. I don’t know where to begin!
Anupamaa and Nishant’s wedding caught my attention when I met Mrinmai of Amour Tales for a business meet on behalf of Elite Wedding Planner. I was thrilled to see the attention to detail, and the personal touches put into the wedding. Also, Corinthians is one of my favourite venues for destination weddings. This wedding is proof of how a great venue, a clean palette and a few special details are all you need to make your wedding picture perfect!!!
Anupamaa is a vision to behold as she switches from one gorgeous dress to another! Nishant matches his beautiful wife effortlessly and looks absolutely dapper himself!
Love the stunning bridal jewelry! Enchanting!
This is the awesome venue I was talking about- Corinthians, Pune!
Anupamaa’s Roka outfit was a Nidhi Dholia Gota work Lehenga. For her Mehndi she wore a beautiful Bandini with a fancy mirror cum net blouse which her mother in law designed for her from Shringar’s Design Studio.
For the Grahshanti puja & Mamera she wore a gracious floor length Indo -Western Mukesh work Anarkali. While on her Sangeet, she dazzled in a Pitha work lehenga.
She went through many options before finalizing her wedding day saree. She went to a few designer boutiques in Juhu and Bandra to look for her perfect wedding dress. But in vain. After all her handwork, she finally settled for a sublime traditional Panetar from Roopkala, Mumbai. She always had a feeling that she would find her wedding wear at Roopkala as they are well-known for their collection of Panetar sarees. But for Anupamaa, it was an emotional moment as it was also the place her mom shopped for her wedding outfit more than two decades ago.
For her Reception, Anupamaa looked drop-dead gorgeous in a fancy Black & gold gown with intricate handwork and motifs, that she got customized from Jay Olga who is very popular for gowns in Bandra. Seriously, this is the only wedding in which I have seen an Indian bride wear a black gown for her reception- and it is awesome!
Absolutely love her stunning statement neck- piece! uber chic!!!
Anupama and Nishant’s wedding design was well though out, very stylish, and perfectly reflected the beauty of the venue. How about their crystal themed reception? Isn’t it just magical?
Wow. I adore everything about the styling of this shoot! Thanks to the awesome team behind this shoot for sharing it with us today, including fab photographers Mrinmai and Mayura from Amour Tales and video by Monochrome Pictures.
FROM THE BRIDE:
How did you meet your husband and when did you know he was your soul mate? What is your personality as a couple?
“We met through a common friend and instantly clicked! We were best friends for more than 4 years before we got together as a couple and then it wasn’t too long before we decided to tie the knot. He was my best friend, and I always thought that marrying my best friend would be perfect! That’s not how I had planned it but I guess god always has a plan worked out for you, and this is what he had for me! So here we are! We are a fun loving, easy going, adventurous, compassionate and unconventionally romantic couple.”
Please share your love story. How did he propose?
As I said, we were best friends for 4 years before we got married. We were like buddies. We never thought that we would end up together but were always very comfortable with each. So one fine day he just came up to me and asked me casually “kya shaadi karegi “and I was like “chal karlete hai yaar” …. 🙂 We have always treated each day as a relationship anniversary date, so every day with my husband is worth a celebration!
How many wedding functions did you have? Tell us more about your wedding style.
“We had 7 functions – A Roka function a few months back; Haldi & Mehndi; Bandoli; Mamera; Engagement & Sangeet; Wedding and finally the Reception.
I wanted a very traditional wedding in a rather contemporary style! Since I’m a Gujarati and my husband is a Marwadi, we had to take the wedding rituals of both communities in to consideration. We were happy that our wedding was a convergence of both our cultures. At the same time, this led to our functions becoming slightly more elaborated and more in number. Both our families were very enthusiastic and forthcoming.
We worked out the look of every function with the decorator in terms of colour schemes, design elements and details. Warm, vibrant and festive colors such as red and gold were finalised for the morning wedding’s decor colour scheme. In contrast- cool, soothing and elegant shades of silver were used for the Reception at night. We also used a lot of crystals in our decor. I must admit, the décor was gorgeous, detailed, opulent and romantic!!!”
What did you enjoy most about planning the wedding of your dreams?
“The fact that I was planning it with the love of my life and for a beautiful start to the rest of our lives together was overwhelming! Our wedding was pretty elaborate and grand and our families willingly indulged in our whims & fancies. I was a wedding planner myself, and it always gave me great pleasure seeing couples come together. Like any other girl, I waited for my big day and nothing like planning it myself! So it was my perfect, very own “27 dresses” moment!”
How did you decide on your lehengas? Where all did you shop for your trousseau?
I went through many options before finalising my wedding trousseau. I wanted to wear different colors and have different kind of embellishments and embroidery work foor each function. I also wanted my look to be different for each day. After all the research I settled for the traditional Panetar for the main wedding which is best available at traditional stores like Roopkala. I knew I’d find mine there. Moreover it’s the place my mom shopped for her wedding too so I picked mine from the same place and got a lovely one, the best one at that time in their store.
Reminiscing, which was your favourite moment from your wedding day?
That moment we had an impromptu dance at our reception, once we got on stage, under the moonlight, it finally started sinking in that we were married, and that feeling was beautiful J
Did you and your husband have a special song that you danced to as your first dance? Why did you choose that particular song?
Yes, we performed on this track called Mann Mera (movie Table no.21) since its just “our song”. There are a few songs we’ve heard together and fallen in love with instantly, this is one of them.
Any hair and make-up recommendations for MWP brides?
Jaywant Thakare’s an old friend since I used to work in the media earlier. At one of the shows we had worked on when I was much younger, he casually brushed a few strokes here and there and I loved the way I looked! I decided that day that he’s going to do my makeup the day I decide to get married! According to me Hair n makeup are extremely important on your big day since the photos and videos are your only memory of that day for the rest of your life. I met Jaywant once and showed him my outfits and asked him to do what he felt right and the rest is as you can see in the pictures. He’s a gem of a person and an ace at what he does!
How did you choose your photographer? Did he deliver to your expectations?
I was frantically looking for the right photographer and learnt of Rachit Vora from a close friend. I saw some of his work and met him and felt very convinced since he and his team seemed very passionate about the work and that’s what we wanted. I wanted an out of the box creative video and some great shots. Rachit Vora introduced us to Mrinmai and Mayura from Amour Tales as well as Guru and Sandeep from Monochrome Pictures. They’ve done a spectacular job covering our wedding and are in the process of giving us our wedding films. The trailer is just wow ! It got me into tears, I was overwhelmed..Can’t wait to see the wedding films..
Any advice for future-brides- to- be?
There were a lot of unexpected issues & hiccups at my wedding; it’s never perfect like you see in the movies! In fact preparing for a marriage tests your relationship loyalties and commitment to each other at another level altogether! But in the end it’s always beautiful and totally worth the effort you put in to planning a wedding.
My advice to brides is to take care of your health & get lots of sleep. Try being very relaxed on the final day as you’ll tend to get worked up but no one knows the minute details your fretting about, so don’t bother , just have a blast, and that smile of yours will do wonders !
Thanks Anupamaa for sharing your experiences with us!
