Wedding in Holiday inn GOA (74)

Let’s take you through Chandni and Jay’s magnificent destination wedding planned by us in Goa. This time, it was the ever-enchanting Holiday Inn resort at Mobor in the south of Goa that hosted the wedding. Chandni and Jay’s wedding took place over 3 days and all the rituals were in Gujurati style. On day one we planned a Mehendi function, followed by a Bollywood style Sangeet, on day two a Haldi ceremony and the Wedding followed by a cosy Wedding dinner and on day three there was a Rain Dance and Reception.

Venue: Holiday Inn GOA

Holiday Inn is one of our favourite hotels in Goa as it has a pristine white sand beach, great outdoor venues, big manicured lawns, multiple restaurants, choice of two banquets, a 5000 square feet ballroom with an attached air conditioned pre-function area as well as 200 plus rooms to house our guests in style. The property has always given us great hospitality, good food, value for money rates and we highly recommend it to our clients looking to have a lavish destination wedding in Goa.

Mehendi Setup

The Mehendi theme was colorful, vibrant and quirky as the couple wanted the bright colors to stand out against the verdant green lawns and blue skies of Goa. Set amidst beautiful palm trees, we made colorful cabanas, quirky photobooths, filled carts with Mehendi gifts and also had street style food counters like gola, candy, corn and coconut water to go with our theme. Our bride wore a lovely kitsch boho-style colorful Mehendi outfit and the groom looked dapper in his traditional outfit. We had Anand Rathi from Reels and Frames as our photographer on board who did absolute justice to the decor by giving us such stunning imagery.

Sangeet

Our bride Chandni may have lived in the US for over a decade but she is a Bollywood desi girl at heart. She loves all things filmy! We had a modern Bollywood theme with eclectic props like a handcrafted wrought iron 8 feet cage with Helen’s famous cabaret cutout as a quirky photobooth, we also had a vanity counter with perfume and make up for guests to take photos as well as a passage full of Bollywood posters from different eras in Indian cinema.

The stage was an LED stage with bulbs and illumination and the dance floor and bar were also made to match the theme. We had bartenders from the Wedding Bartenders company come and serve our guests their amazing creations while DJ Kilogram had our lovely guests dancing till the wee hours of the morning.

The Rain dance was a pastel, dream like setting with boho teepee tents, floral overlays, macrame laced photobooth, long wooden bar filled with greens and a complete pastel rain dance set up. The bride and groom entered in style as guests welcomed them with a lot of cheering, blowing bubbles and colorful smoke in the background. We had called a very special wedding anchor to make the guests have fun and their interaction took the event a notch higher.

Dreamcatchers, pretty bar decor, a DIY sangria bar and a tattoo parlour added to the fun elements of the rain dance.

The groom got his baraat in a swanky grey vintage car. The skies were clear and the weather was beautiful with a nip in the air. Our bride made way on a custom created aisle with her favourite poem etched on it. The mandap was custom made and took over a month to make in pine wood. Lush with roses, lilies and chrysanthemums and the setting sun on the sea water behind made for a magical setting. Guests were given handpainted fans and were served small treats as they saw the wonderful couple take their vows. Chandni looked like a vision in her green and pale rose outfit. Credit for her hair and make up goes to celebrity make up artist Daniel Baeur. The couple exchanged vows under the setting sun and exited the venue with guests holding sparklers in a tunnel and fireworks setting the sky ablaze. The wedding was followed by a lovely wedding dinner in a cosy outdoor setting.

The Reception was a classy black tie affair. The cake was called in from Mumbai as it was a special Macrame tower cake. Champagne was popped open, speeches were made, the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance and guests partied all night.

The decor was a peach and gold theme with chandeliers , lace and a mirror dance

floor.

Classy and elegant all the way, the staff of Holiday Inn comfortably hosted all our events with a lot of love and hospitality.
