HONG KONG THEME SANGEET AT THE LEELA, MUMBAI
WHY TO OPT FOR A WEDDING THEME?
If you’re looking for some wedding-theme inspirations, maybe this post can help you! A theme makes a wedding more personal, more coordinated and definitely more beautiful! Choosing a wedding theme is a nice way to create a cohesive look and feel at your event. It’s important to select a theme early on in the planning process as it will help guide your various wedding style decisions like choice of wedding accessories and maybe even your outfit. A central idea or theme is also helpful for your wedding vendors as they come up with ideas for the entrance, mandap design or centerpieces and even the wedding menu. Your theme could be something as simple as a colour scheme or could be more elaborate with something that is meaningful to you like your favourite flower or maybe your personal style preferences like a vintage inspired wedding theme.
HONGKONG WEDDING THEME
The wedding planning division of My Wedding Planning is headed by Ms. Ruchita Parelkar who is a much sought after wedding planner based in Mumbai. In a recent wedding that we planned for our Dubai-based client, we incorporated a Hong Kong themed sangeet. Our client wanted a Hong Kong Theme as he was born in Hong Kong and lived there till he was 6 when his family shifted to Dubai.
First and foremost, we decided on a colour scheme. What we had for the Hong Kong themed sangeet was a colour scheme of Red and Black as those are perfect oriental colours and we think they’re pretty elegant and classy as well!
Once we decided on the colours, it was a lot easier to coordinate the invitation, centerpieces, entrance gate, styling, favours, flowers, menu and music around the colour scheme of red and black keeping in mind the Hong Kong theme.
ACCESSORIES
We had two 6 feet floral dragon sculptures made entirely of red roses that were placed at the entrance gate of the banquet. We also decorated the entrance of the Grand Ballroom at Leela with thousands of red roses pastings on the banquet doors frame. We had a fun and funky photobooth with chinese umbrellas to add to the fun elements of the evening.
We used small Chinese lanterns on the ceiling to add to the oriental mystique. Also we had beautiful tall-centerpieces that were custom designed with red confetti and roses to add to the charm of the evening. Here are some of the photos from the day, make sure you pin your favorites! Happy Browsing!!!
