Hello brides! We know how important your wedding lehenga is to you. If you’re just like us, you have been dreaming about your wedding lehenga since your college days! After all your wedding lehenga may well be the most luxurious, most photographed piece of clothing you’ll ever wear, so we want to make sure that you find your dream lehenga. When you see it, you would know it’s the one! It will make you feel exquisite, beautiful, glamorous, comfortable and ecstatic all at once.
At MWP, we are always on a mission to help our beautiful brides find their dream lehenga! If you see the right side bar of the blog, we have a separate category for lehenga inspiration. We hope our lehenga lookbook will inspire you to find your perfect match!
Your lehenga will serve as the centrepiece of the day, a signature design around which the entire wedding will revolve. (No Pressure!) Because there are thousands of lehenga designers out there, lehenga shopping may be a little overwhelming if you don’t know what style will look good on you. But don’t panic! The more outfits you try, the better you would understand what suits your body type, and of course what fits your personal fashion taste as well.
We hope you enjoy and cherish the euphoria of your lehenga shopping!!!
HERE ARE THE TOP 10 LEHENGA TRENDS THIS YEAR:
BALLROOM LEHENGA
Adding a contemporary twist to the traditional bridal lehenga, many designers have now started adding more bounce, giving it the appearance of a more flounced skirt. Yards of tulle and net under embellished silks and organza combine to give the outfit a dramatic flair.
FUN FACT: They are called Ballroom lehengas because they create the effect Victorian gowns did at the grand ball distinctive of that era!

GLAMOROUS RED
Undoubtedly an age-old bridal favourite, bright red and scarlet are synonymous with Indian weddings. Maroon and Vermillion are also hot on the list!
SHEER FABRICS
Translucent and sheer fabrics are widely used in Indian bridal wear in a manner that is alluring and not too provocative. Net, chiffon and lace have the transparency that can add to an ethereal look. Soft net saris with heavy embellishments are must haves in your wedding trousseau.

PASTEL PLEASURES
Designers like Shyamal and Bhumika and Anushree Reddy have celebrated this romantic colour palette for a long time now. Earlier, brides shied away from wearing soft pastel shades for their wedding day opting instead for bright solid colours. Pastel shades like blushing pink, cream ivory and rose are now the latest fashion trend.
