SHWETA AND ANJAN’S FAIRYTALE WEDDING AT TAJ FISHERMAN’S COVE IN CHENNAI
Rustic and Vintage are my favorite wedding themes. On our wedding blog, we love featuring weddings with personal style. So when I saw this gorgeous wedding, it literally got my swooning! I have rarely seen a wedding in India with so many personal elements and impeccable attention to detail. Trust me; you don’t want to miss out on this wedding! At MWP we promise you the most romantic weddings possible, and today’s is no exception! I fell in love with Shweta and Anjan’s wedding when I saw it on photographer Pushpendra Gautam’s website called Simplypush Photography. Shweta and Anjan are based in Australia and since they are originally from India they wanted to have their wedding in India. They had a mehendi ceremony and cocktail at Savera Hotel in Chennai which is the hometown of the groom, followed by the Christian wedding at Taj Fisherman’s Cove at the outskirts of Chennai, and lastly a gorgeous wedding reception at Delhi which is the hometown of the bride.
LOVE STORY & PROPOSAL
All love stories are beautiful, but some have all the characteristics of a fairytale: A serendipitous meeting, falling in love and of course, a happy wedding! So it is with today’s couple, Shweta Naik and Anjan Vincent. It all began when Anjan moved to Australia from the U.S in 2011. It was then that he caught sight of Shweta on a random facebook photo that he saw on his cousin sister’s profile. A few weeks later with the help of his cousin sister, they met for a casual evening coffee along the banks of the river Yarra in Melbourne. Starting then and in the weeks and months to come, they embarked on a wonderful journey of discovering each other; the things they had in common ,the things they admired in each other and most importantly… the things they loved about each other. They dated for about two years before Anjan took Shweta back to the place where they first met and proposed to her on bended knee. Needless to say ; she said “YES” !!!!
DESTINATION WEDDING AT CHENNAI
For their Christian wedding at Taj Fisherman’s Cove in Chennai, Shweta and Anjan decided on a soft colour palette of coral pink, ivory and dull gold. It was a perfect sunny outdoor ceremony in a picturesque sea side venue at the outskirts of Chennai. They had many gorgeous DIY personalized elements like a cake topper saying “mr and mrs Vincent”, a bridal hanger saying “Mrs Vincent”, a rustic rings box with their wedding date and names on it among many other such fun and thoughtful elements. The venue was made to look like a beautiful magical garden. Added to the coral and pink shades of the wedding were fairy lights and paper lanterns, making it a celebration of joy and love and colour. But of course, the best light is the glow of happiness on the happy couple’s faces. Now that’s how you know it’s a fairy tale!
Shweta says, “We wanted to really focus on the details, because that is what makes the wedding memorable. We tried to include as many personalized details as possible and included various DIY elements to not only save money but to make our wedding reflect us as a couple. We wanted a very rustic and romantic feel to the wedding. We ordered our ring box from Teomil – it was a very cute rustic box with our names and wedding date on it. We had a canopy of fairy lights, candles and paper lamps over the ceremony/reception area for a very dreamy feel. We also had a “tree of love” – thumbprints and signatures of our guests on a frame. We had pictures from our childhood with our families as part of the décor. For wedding favours we gave away home-made chocolates inside some really cute bride and groom shaped boxes.”
What we at MWP loved most about this wedding was its inspiring DIY elements and personal decor elements. From the personalized bridal hanger to the “mr and mrs vincent” cake topper this wedding is ‘pinterest’ wedding style at its best!!! Don’t miss the oh-so-gorgeous wedding ring holder with the couples name and wedding date on it as well as the tree with thumbprints of all the guests. Genius decor ideas! I’m absolutely loving this wedding!
PHOTOGRAPHY
For the ceremony in Delhi, the couple decided on Pushpendra Gautam (Simplypush Photograph). Pushpendra has done such a marvelous job on their Delhi ceremony photos. Love the effects and angles in all the photos. Dreamy! Check them out on our next post.
For candid photography the couple finalized on Coffee Stains from Chennai for their unique style and different approach to wedding photography. For the wedding the couple also took the services of Prasheila Lookhar from Going Bananas Photography who is also a friend of the bride.
BRIDAL MUSINGS
“When I think about our wedding day, what I remember most is laughing and dancing a lot and feeling surrounded by so much love. So many huge smiles and laughs! It was the most beautiful day. We were thrilled with the presence of family and friends on the wedding day. Having all our beautiful family and friends come over from various parts of the world made our day. Being surrounded by all your favourite people is a really special and overwhelming experience. It was so precious to see all of our loved ones enjoying each other’s company. It was a day full of love and friendship and we couldn’t have asked for anything else. We along with our guests dined and danced under the stars and the cool sea breeze.”
Wasn’t this every bit of a fairytale wedding? If you’re loving the feel of this wedding, come back tomorrow for Shweta and Anjan’s equally gorgeous reception at Delhi!
