Unfortunately we haven’t showcased many Christian weddings on MWP blog, but after seeing this wedding I completely intend to do so. I’m a big fan of Christian weddings. When I was younger, I would tug along with my Christian neighbors for their family weddings and I remember dancing the night away. Every little girl dreams of this day. The wedding cake. Combining the rustic backdrop of the church for their wedding ceremony with the elegance of lights and open air details for their ‘peacock feather’ inspired reception, Leah and Sydney’s wedding is putting its own fashion stamp on traditional Christian weddings. Planned to perfection by Knotted Up Weddings, Rahul De Cunha made sure he gets each and every moment of their gorgeous day!
PEACOCK FEATHER WEDDING INPIRATION
As wedding bloggers, all of us at My Wedding Planning love new concepts and styles to introduce to our lovely MWP brides. And here’s one such sweet concept. Leah and Sydney based their wedding theme on the Peacock Feather. In Christianity, the Peacock symbolizes resurrection, immortality, renewal associated with the spiritual teachings of Christianity. It symbolizes an all seeing church. Taking that as their inspiration, Leah and Sydney conceptualised and planned their wedding details.
KARLEO Fashions drew inspiration from the white peacock to make Leah’s stunningly bespoke wedding dress. Leah is surely one fashion-forward bride! Dressed in a classic strapless gown she is a vision to behold! And look at her green wedding shoes! Love those Manolo Blahniks!!!
The groom and groomsmen looked dashing in classic black tuxedos. The lovely bridesmaids were escorted down the aisle dressed in pretty dresses. Leah our beautiful bride, accompanied by her father, was adorned in an exquisite strapless sequined gown. Guests watched the bride and groom recite their vows while Leah and Sydney truly accomplished their wish: to have their friends and family feel comfortable and have lots and lots of fun at their wedding. No doubt, everyone had an amazing time!

Hi Leah. Thank you for sharing your wedding with MWP. Also tell us more about how you met Sydney!
I moved to dubai for a new job in which Sydney had already been working for two years. He was introduced to me by a friend on the second day i was there and we have been together ever since. Both of us being Indian, and ironically for the same city, had to travel to another country to find true love and ever since then we have traveled the world together.
Looking back, was there a moment that you remember from your wedding that stands out as the most wonderful and cherished moment of the day?
As the bride the most wonderful moment of my wedding was after I entered the church and the priest gave the first blessing. He requested us all to be seated and my then to be husband stole a moment by holding my hand and whispering “I can’t believe you are my princess”
How did you choose your photographer? Which services did he provide? Did he deliver to your expectations?
Our wedding planner gave us a number of options for photographers. Rahul De Cunha photography stood out and we instantly knew that he was “THE ONE” .He delivered more than our expectations and did everything at our convenience. From the engagement shoot to our save the dates, the wedding day and post production!
What is your advice to our brides-to-be?
My advice for brides to be…. As much as this is your day and your fairytale dream as a little girl, let your partner share their dream as well, because when you both make the fairytale your reality, nothing can compare.
