Hello brides! At MWP we love planning chilled out ‘beach shack’ styled weddings in Goa. We planned quite a few of those last year; this year around we planned most weddings at South Goan five star hotels. No doubt they are equally fun, but I’m missing a laid-back, toes-in-the-sand wedding at Goa. So I thought it was about time we had a beach wedding here on MWP! I enjoy a good laidback beach wedding ceremony so much. And I absolutely adore today’s beautiful, personal celebration, which brings together everything we love about the beautiful shores of Goa, combined with an absolutely stunning sea-facing mandap and a happy couple.
Let’s head straight to Swarnika and Hrishikesh’s wedding at Byke Resort Goa, as we continue our series with Salim Khan Photography.
Friends and family joined Swarnika and Hrishikesh for a tropical weekend getaway, and a team of talented wedding pros pulled everything together, including the talented candid wedding photographer, Salim Khan.
Wow. I adore everything about the styling of this pre wedding shoot – the use of ombre elements that are a perfect contrast to the beachy background and the relaxed holiday vibe.
Loving the candid shots of the bride, as she gets ready for her big day!
The pretty bride-to-be makes her entrance in a lush floral doli and it’s a truly a beautiful moment! Hrishikesh waits for her at the bright and cheerfully decorated floral mandap as Salim Khan captures these precious shots. This beach wedding under the stars is intimate and filled with love and light, as the newlyweds look blissful on their big night!
The floral mandap, traditional attire, gathering of happy family and friends, makes for a wedding that is warm and familiar. The wedding design is pretty without being overpoweringly girly. In short, super inspiring! Thanks to the awesome team behind this shoot for sharing it with us today.
As I caught up with Salim he told me, “Any good photographer will tell you that the relationship they strike with many couples goes above and beyond what’s on the contract.” I agree. As a wedding planner, I have seen that photographers not only share your excitement ahead of the wedding and keep things calm on the day, they’re also there to share some of the most incredible, intimate, personal moments, the biggest of your lives. Many become like members of the family and often friendships are formed along the way.
Here’s what Salim had to say about shooting this lovely wedding in Goa, “It was almost certain that this wedding was going to be a lovely affair. It was calling for it, the beaches of Goa, the resort, two diverse families coming together for one grand celebration.
When I headed towards Goa, the first notion that hit my mind was the beaches and how would I utilize them for the shoot. Early morning walk on the beach was my idea of getting the couple out of the wedding zone and make them have a casual time, just with each other. And that paid off. We landed up with stunning photographs on the beach.
The event kicked off with Haldi event for the Groom, followed by intimate sangeet, and finally the wedding on the beach of Cavelossim. I made sure that I do justice to the whole event, with my intimate, communicative photographs. I am a documentary style photographer who likes to write stories through the photographs, which I was able to pull off. I was lucky to have shot the wedding of Swarnika and Hrishikesh.”
Thanks for the feature Salim!
